본 규정은 ‘사단법인 한국표면공학회’(이하 ‘학회’라 한다.)에서 발간하는 한국표면공학회지(이하 ‘학회지’라 한다.)의 논문의 투고 및 게재에 대한 사항을 규정함을 목적으로 한다.
본 학회지의 공식명칭은 ‘한국표면공학회지’이며, 본 학회지는 open access journal로 e-journal로 발행 및 운영된다.
논문의 연구범위는 표면공학 및 산업에 관한 분야를 중심으로 연구내용의 다양한 산업에의 적용을 위하여 건식/습식 표면처리, 박막 소재 및 특성 평가, 표면개질, 박막의 기계/광학/전자기적 성질, 박막의 부식/방식 및 마모 거동, 새로운 표면 처리 원료/공정/평가 기법, 표면 기술의 응용, Electrodeposition 등을 포함하는 연관 기술 분야로 하며 다른 간행물에 발표되지 않은 논문이어야 한다.
① 논문은 학회에서 규정한 원고작성양식(Template)에 따라 학회 홈페이지를 통하여 온라인으로 제출한다. 단, 제출 시 소정의 심사료를 납부하여야 한다.
② 논문은 수시로 접수하며 접수일은 학회에 접수절차가 완료된 일자로 한다.
③ 학회 ‘투고규정’과 ‘연구윤리규정’에 위배되는 원고는 접수하지 않을 수 있다
④ 접수된 원고는 반환하지 않는다.
본 학회 회원은 학회지에 연구논문, 리뷰논문, 단 논문, 기술보고, 기술 해설, 연구교신을 투고할 수 있으며, 연구 논문은 다른 학회지나 공개 간행물에 발표되지 않은 것이어야 한다.
표면공학의 학술 또는 기술에 관한 창의성 있는 완성된 논문

연구논문의 형식을 갖추지는 못했지만 창의성 있는 연구내용 의 신속한 전달을 필요로 하는 것
기 발표된 논문에 대한 건설적 의견 및 그에 대한 답변을 내용으로 하는 것
원고 작성에 사용하는 언어는 한글, 영어에 한한다. 단, 기술해설은 한글로 작성하는 것을 원칙으로 한다. 연구논문은 본문을 한글로 작성하더라도 초록, 표 와 그림(사진포함)의 설명문은 영문으로 나타내야 한다. 한글원고의 경우 학술용어는 교과부에서 추천한 것을 사용한다. 적절한 한글 용어가 없는 외국어 술어는 외국어 표기법에 따라 한글로 표기하며 처음 나오는 술어는 괄호 내에 영문을 병기할 수 있다. 외국인의 이름과 회사 이름은 원어로 표시할 수 있다.
논문은 다음과 같은 체제와 형식에 맞게 작성되어야 한다.
① 원고는 A4용지(210*297mm)에 가로쓰기로 한 줄씩 건너서 작성하며 각 변에서 25mm씩 여백을 남긴다. 원고에 사용되는 워드프로세서는 한글 (아래한글)을 원칙으로 하되, 부득이한 경우 MS 워드도 가능하다.
② 논문은 (1)제목, (2)저자 성명, 소속, (1)/(2) 영문 표기, (3)영문초록, (4)주요기술용어(Key Word), (5)교신저자 연락처(소속, 전화, 팩스, 전자우편)), (6)서론, (7)본문(실험방법, 결과, 결과의 해석, 고찰), (8)결론, (9)후기, (10)참고문헌, 기타의 순서로 작성한다.
③ 수식은 ‘(1)’과 같이 표기되며, 본문에 언급되는 순서대로 번호를 부여한다. 수식을 본문에서 언급할 때는 국문논문의 경우 ‘식(1)’로 영문논문의 경우 ‘Eq. (1)’과 같이 표기한다. 표와 그림 설명문은 국문논문 및 영문논문 모두 각각 ‘Table 1.’, ‘Fig. 1.’과 같이 표기하고, 첫 글자만 대문자를 쓰고 나머지는 소문자를 사용하여 영문으로 작성하며, 본문에 언급되는 순서대로 번호를 부여한다. 표와 그림을 본문에서 언급할 때는 영문논문의 경우 ‘Table 1’, ‘Fig. 1’과 같이 표기하고 국문논문의 경우 ‘표 1’, ‘그림 1’과 같이 표기한다. 그림은 전자출판이 가능한 형태로 제출하여야 하며, 그림 속의 문자나 숫자는 출판 시 축소될 것을 고려하여 가독성이 있도록 충분한 크기로 기입한다.
④ 단위는 국제단위계 (SI Units) 사용을 원칙으로 하며, 국제적인 관례를 준용한다.
⑤ (참고문헌의 표시)
1)인용된 문헌이 학술 잡지일 때는 저자 전부의 이름 : 약기된 잡지명, 권수, 연도, 면수의 순서로 나타낸다. 잡지의 약기명은 Chemical Abstract의 약기에 따르며 연도를 나타내 는 숫자는 괄호로 묶는다. 권수가 없을 때는 호수 등으로 대신한다.

인용문헌은 ‘[1]’, ‘[2, 3]’, ‘[4-6, 9]’와 같이 본문에 언급되는 순서대로 [번호]를 부여하고, 본문 마지막에 ‘참고문헌’으로 한꺼번에 모아서 제시한다.
① 논문의 게재여부는 편집위원(장)이 결정한다.
② 논문의 심사는 편집위원(장)이 추천한 3인의 심사위원에 의해 진행되며 심사 및 게재여부 판정 절차는 ‘논문심사규정’에 따른다.
편집위원(장)은 심사결과에 따라 저자에게 논문의 수정이나 보완을 요구할 수 있다. 초교는 저자가 보는 것을 원칙으로 하되 논문 내용의 개정은 할 수 없으며, 초교를 통보받고 1주일 이내에 회신이 없으면 교정할 사항이 없는 것으로 처리한다.
① 논문내용에 대한 책임은 저자(들)에게 있다.
② 저자(들)는 제출된 논문의 저작권을 학회에 양도하여야 하며, 이를 위해 교신저자는 ‘사단법인 한국표면공학회 연구윤리 서약 및 저작권 활용 동의서’를 제출하여야 한다.
③ 게재된 논문 및 기타 투고물의 저작권은 학회에 있으며, 학회의 승인 없이 무단으로 복제할 수 없다.
④ 저자(들)는 자신(들)의 다른 연구물에 학회지에 게재된 논문 및 기타투고물의 일부를 사용할 수 있으나, 그 내용의 출처로 게재 논문을 인용해야 한다.
본 학회지에 게재가 확정된 논문에 대하여 저자는 소정의 게재료를 지불하여야 한다. 별쇄본 인쇄 요청 시, 추가 비용은 저자가 부담하여야 한다.
학회지의 발행일은 연6회 짝수달 말일(2월 28일, 4월 30일, 6월 30일, 8월 31일, 10월 31일, 12월 31일)에 발행한다.
The rules are designed to specify matters related to the submission and publication of papers in Journal of The Korean Institute of Surface Engineering (hereinafter referred to as the “Journal”) of the Korean Society of Surface Engineering (hereinafter referred to as the “Society”).
The official name of this journal is ‘Journal of The Korean Institute of Surface Engineering’, this journal is open access journal and published as an e-journal.
The scope of research in the paper is the related technical field that dry/wet surface treatment, thin film material and characteristic evaluation, surface modification, thin-film mechanical/optical/electromagnetic properties, corrosion/methods and abrasion behavior, new surface treatment raw materials/process/evaluation techniques, application of surface technology, and Electrodeposition includes for application to various industries in the study, focusing on the fields of surface engineering and industry, and should be the paper that has not published in other journals nor publications.
① The paper must be written in compliance of the template specified by the Society to be registered and submitted online through the Society website. At submission, the specified review fee has to be paid.
② The Paper is accepted anytime and submission date is the day submission is completed at the Society.
③ The paper that is found not to comply with ‘Regulations on Submission of Papers to Journal of The Korean Institute of Surface Engineering’ and ‘Ethical Guidelines to Research Publication’ may not be accepted.
④ The submitted paper shall not be returned.
Members of the Society can submit research paper, review paper, technical note, technical report, technical explanation, research paper to the JKISE which were not published in other journals nor publications.
Research Paper : a completed creative paper about academical or technical aspects in surface engineering.
Review Paper : a manuscript which describes a trend or trends of a technology through the summary and discussion of previous publications.
Technical Note : not in competed research paper format, but creative research outcomes necessary to quickly distribute.
Technical report and explanations
Research communication : constructive opinions or its answers to already published papers.
Korean and English are acceptable. Technical explanations should be written in Korean in principle. Research papers should print an abstract, figure/table captions in English. Manuscript in Korean should use Korean government recommended terminologies. Foreign terminologies should be written in Korean according to the government regulation and the first appearing foreign terminology can be followed in parenthesis. Names of foreign company and personnel can be written in their native language.
The paper is framed in compliance with the following system and format.
① A4 size (210*297mm)and double space format should be used with 25 mm margin both sides(left and right). In principle, word processors used in manuscripts Arae-A Hangul(*.hwp), but MS words can also be used if unavoidable.
② The paper is framed in the order of the (1)title, (2)name of authors, affiliation, (1)/(2) English mark, (3)English abstract, (4)keywords, (5)contact information of corresponding author(affiliation, e-mail, Tel, Fax), (6)introduction, (7)body(experimental method, result, Interpretation of results, consideration), (8)conclusion, (9)acknowledgements, (10)references, etc
③ The expressions, tables and figures is indicated as 'Eq.(1)', 'Table IV', and 'Fig. 3', respectively, regardless of Korean or English, and are given the numbers in the order of being appeared in the text. The figures should be submitted in the quality that can be published electronically, and the letters and numbers in figures should be big enough in size considering that they may be reduced.
④ The SI Units are used for units in principle, and the international practices are applied correspondingly.
⑤ (References should be written in English and prepared in the following form.)
1) For a scientific journal: Author, Paper title, Abbreviation of journal title, volume (year) start pagethe last page

The cited literature are given [numbers] in the order of being mentioned in the text as '[1]', '[2, 3]', and '[4-6,9]', and should be presented altogether as 'references' at the end of the text.
① The editor (in chief) shall decide whether to publish the paper or not.
② The review of the paper is conducted by three reviewers recommended by the editor (in chief) over its publication shall comply with ‘Rules for Reviewing Papers for Journal of The Korean Institute of Surface Engineering Paper Review Rules.
The editor (in chief) may demand the modification or of paper to the author
following the results of review. The first proof are conducted by the author in principle, but the contents of paper should not be revised. It shall be considered that there is no correction if there is no reply within one week after the receipt of notification of first proof.
① The Authors are responsible for the submitted paper.
② The author(s) must transfer the copyright for the submitted paper to the Society, and for this purpose, the corresponding author(s) must submit ‘Research Ethics and Copyright Transfer Agreement’.
③ The copyright for the submitted paper or other submissions shall lie with the Society and may not be reproduced without authorization from the Society.
④ The author(s) may use part of their paper or other submissions published in the Journal in their other research, provided the published paper is referenced as its source.
The author must pay the specified fee for the paper published in the Journal. The additional cost will be imposed when requesting reprint by the author.
The Journal is published at the last day of February, April, June, August, October and December each year.
